Android has always been better when it comes to customization, the amount of customization that Android offers at different levels is just insane when compare with other mobile operating systems out there in the market like Apple's IOS or Other Mobile-based OS like ubuntu touch or Debian based 'Mobian'. Though Apple is catching up really fast with Android in terms of customizability, It is still a long way to go for Apple to reach Android-level customizations. We can alter our android to make it look and behave like whatever we want, all we need is a few applications and tools which we can easily find on the internet. Launchers: Escape the stock looks.
Launchers are the most important part of your home screen setup. what's a launcher? you might ask...
A launcher, as the name suggests, is an application/tool that helps your android to sort and launch applications present on your phone. The launcher app that comes by default with your phone is not so customizable. So, what we will do to add customization functionality to the phone is use a third-party launcher app.
NOVA Launcher, LawnChair, Smart launcher, try any one of these three launchers or browse the Play store for a bit and find your perfect fit according to your needs, Now that we are done changing our launcher, Our phone is almost ready to have the revamp it needed.
Widgets: Let's add a bit of Spice.
Widgets are what make our Home screens look Alive. Let me introduce you to Custom widgets and icons as well. Now some of you guys might already know about KWGT and custom icon packs but still, to those who don't know...KWGT is an application that allows us to use widgets that are not only functional but have great looks as well unlike basic widgets that comes with usual apps, custom Widget packs change the way your Homescreen look by changing them with more intriguing design and a variety. Go Check out KWGT on the Google Play store.
Then search the play store for 'KWGT widget packs' And install your favorite one.
Now we have a Homescreen that's functional, looks cool, and makes your phone stand out from the rest. But hey, there is still scope for improvement, so we are going for it.
Icon Packs: Cherry on Top.
Custom Icon Packs are the Cherry On Top of all the hard work we put in to make our Homescreen look the way we want. The default icon pack that comes with the OEM is Not that fancy and sometimes even straight-up ugly. And that's exactly where the Custom Icon Pack comes in. You can find Custom Icon Packs on the Play store by simply typing in 'Icon Packs'.
Once you chose which one you want to apply, Go ahead, install it, go to your Launcher settings, and Apply it. And this will Revamp your Homescreen's looks with ore suited icons.
If Done properly, this is what you'll be able to achieve by the end of the process.
